Tools

  • Leading Culture Handbook  - This tool helps leaders expand their repertoire of behaviors and practices for strengthening culture. It includes action strategies for applying a wide range of behaviors in day-to-day interactions to shape culture strengths proactively. It is a rich self-development and coaching guide. Use it with the Leading Culture Snapshot or alone.

  • Leading Culture Snapshot  - This 360º feedback tool helps leaders understand how their words and actions are shaping the culture of their organization and influencing the behavior of the people around them. It compares their perspective with those of people they interact with as part of their work. The result is a picture of the culture they are creating. Used right after a Chocolate Factory simulation, it provides objective data to increase personal awareness, gain insight and set priorities for action.

  • Leading Culture Snapshot Self-Assessment - An alternative to a full 360º survey is a paper-based self-assessment tool that can be used in a workshop. It is ideal for increasing self-awareness and engaging leaders in sharing insights about their own behaviors and practices. Based on the same rigorous research as the Leading Culture 360, it is a cost effective option.

  • High Engagement Culture Handbook - This is a unique reference guide that focuses specifically on the way managers can use behaviors, practices and action strategies to lift engagement in their own group. Focusing on eight factors, it describes an array of behaviors to add to their repertoire, plus social, managing, operating and other practices that turn behaviors into routines and habits. It also includes as set of powerful action strategies for getting started. It's a comprehensive guide for use in engagement training programs, team development activities, new manager orientation and post-engagement survey planning. Managers, coaches and human resources professionals will find this a unique behavior-focused resource.

“The bottom line for leaders is that if they do not become conscious of the cultures in which they are embedded, those cultures will manage them. Cultural understanding is desirable for all of us, but it is essential if leaders are to lead.” Edgar Schein
